Providers that offer services through the cloud should continue to use SLAs, as they offer their customers a guarantee on the level of service they can expect. This can give the company a competitive advantage. Most cloud providers offer all customers the same standard SLA with common service levels. Some offer advanced levels of support in “Gold/Silver/Bronze” graduated SLAs, where the customer gets better levels of service when the customer pays higher fees. Customers who purchase cloud services generally have to accept the service levels offered. A cloud provider is unlikely to adapt an SLA specifically for them. Some companies focus more on the service level of their individual IT services than on the service that customers actually receive.
